AI notes turns a recorded call into a short written summary on the contact, so a rep or manager can see what happened on a call without listening to it. Instead of relistening to a 10-minute call to write a note, you get a 2 to 5 bullet summary and a suggested next step, written for you.
Note: AI notes is included in Pro and Agency plans, with 1,000 recorded minutes per sub-account per month, then $5 for each extra 1,000 minutes. It is entitled per sub-account and can only be turned on by us, not through any setting you can flip yourself.
What it does
For a recorded call, Phone Clover transcribes the audio to text, then writes a short AI summary (2 to 5 bullets, plus a “Next step:” line) as a note on the contact in HighLevel. The transcript is also saved, capped at 4000 characters. Both land on the contact automatically, so anyone who opens that contact later, not just the rep who took the call, can see what was said and what should happen next.
This runs in the background after a call ends, on a small batch of calls at a time, so a summary will not appear on the contact the instant you hang up. See AI transcripts and summaries for the details of how a call gets picked up and what disqualifies it.
Where to find it
Settings, then the Calls tab, then the Recording card, then “Transcribe and summarize.” If your sub-account is not yet entitled to the add-on, the switch stays disabled and shows “Paid add-on … Contact support” instead of turning on.
Requirements
- The call must have a recording attached. Recording itself is a separate setting; see Call recording settings.
- Your sub-account must be on Pro or Agency and have the entitlement turned on for you. Contact support to ask about enabling it.
What you get
- A transcript, written as a note on the contact.
- A short AI summary with a suggested next step, also written as a note on the contact.
What it does not do yet
- It does not show the summary inside the phone UI or the Recents list. Today it only appears as a note on the contact in HighLevel. You can also see it by expanding a call row in the dashboard on the full Phone page.
- It does not label individual speakers in the transcript.
- It does not let you choose a language. Language is auto-detected.
- It does not carry a separate line-item price: it is included in Pro and Agency, with 1,000 recorded minutes per sub-account per month, then $5 for each extra 1,000 minutes (early-access pricing). How it gets billed to you (through HighLevel rebilling or a marketplace plan) is still being finalized, so ask support for current details.
Why it’s an add-on, not a free feature
Running speech-to-text and a summarization model on every call costs real compute, on every sub-account, on every call. That’s why it isn’t switched on by default the way most of Phone Clover is. Your sub-account needs the entitlement flipped on for you before the switch in Settings will do anything besides show “Paid add-on … Contact support.”
