When you have a contact’s conversation open in HighLevel, you do not need to go to the Phone page to call them. Phone Clover adds its own call button right next to HighLevel’s native call icon, in the Conversations header.

Where to find it

Open any contact’s conversation in HighLevel Conversations. Next to the existing call icon, you will see a second button with the Phone Clover logo. Its label, and what a screen reader announces, is “Call with Telnyx.”

How to use it

  1. Open the contact’s conversation.
  2. Click Call with Telnyx in the header.
  3. A floating panel titled “Telnyx” opens and starts dialing the contact’s number.
  4. Use the close button (×) on the panel when you are done, or let it close automatically when the call ends.

The panel you get here is the same floating widget used everywhere else in Phone Clover, so mute, hold, notes, and the post-call outcome screen all work exactly as they do when you start a call from the Keypad tab. See In-call controls for what each button does.

Which number gets called

The button dials the number attached to the contact whose conversation you have open. If the contact has more than one number on file, it uses the one HighLevel is showing in that conversation. To call a different number for the same contact, dial it manually from the Keypad tab instead.

What you will see while it rings

As soon as the call connects (or starts ringing out), the caller card appears with what Phone Clover knows about the contact: name, tags, do-not-call status, their latest note, and an open opportunity if the sub-account has granted that permission.

Note: The header button places a new call. It does not answer an inbound call for you. An inbound ring still shows up in the floating widget or the Phone page’s Keypad tab, wherever you are working.

If the button is missing

The call button is injected by Phone Clover into the Conversations header after the app loads. If you do not see it next to HighLevel’s own call icon:

  • Refresh the page. The button is added by the widget script after the page finishes loading, so a slow load can leave it out briefly.
  • Confirm Phone Clover is installed and turned on for this sub-account. Ask your admin to check Settings → Overview for a “HighLevel connection” issue.
  • Make sure you are looking at a Conversations view for a contact, not a different GHL screen. The button only appears in that header.

If it is still missing after a refresh, this usually points to the app not being fully connected for your sub-account rather than something wrong with your account specifically. Have an admin check Overview and health badges.

Why it lives in the conversation header

Calling from the exact conversation you are already reading means you never have to look up a number or double-check you are calling the right contact. It is the fastest way to move from texting someone in Conversations to calling them, without losing your place or switching to the Phone page and searching for their name.
